The only direct flight from Vietnam to Munich

Mr. Le Duc Canh - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines - said that on October 5, the airline officially launched the first and only direct flight between Vietnam and the capital of Bayern state, Munich, Germany.

According to Vietnam Airlines, the opening of a direct flight to Munich is a particularly important milestone in the journey to expand the airline's international flight network.

20 years ago, Vietnam Airlines began operating the first flight route between Vietnam and Germany. Over the past 2 decades, Vietnam Airlines has served more than 3.1 million passengers with nearly 14,000 flights.

The opening of direct flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Munich not only opens up new opportunities for tourism and trade, but also contributes to promoting comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Germany.

The route between Hanoi and Munich will be operated with a frequency of 2 flights per week. Ho Chi Minh City - Munich will be operated with 1 flight per week. From December 2024, the airline will add 1 flight between Ho Chi Minh City and Munich.

More choices for passengers

Munich is one of the economic, cultural and tourism centers of Europe. For Vietnam Airlines, this is not only an important strategic destination, but also a potential market.

With the opening of new routes to Munich, the airline will operate a total of 4 routes departing from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City to 2 major cities in Germany, Frankfurt and Munich, with a frequency of 14 flights/week. Thus, instead of only being able to fly directly to Frankfurt, Germany, passengers have more options to fly to Munich with many new destinations and tourist routes.

According to many travel businesses and passengers, airfares from Vietnam to Germany fluctuate depending on the airline and the time of booking. Normally, round-trip fares range from about 395 USD to 575 USD for popular flights from Vietnam to major cities in Germany such as Frankfurt and Munich.

In addition, international airlines such as Qatar Airways, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific, Turkish Airlines, Korean Air and Asiana Airlines all offer flights from Vietnam to Germany with a stopover in transit cities such as Doha, Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Istanbul and Seoul.
