Recently, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to listen to the leaders of Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board report on the progress of key projects in Van Phong Economic Zone.
According to the report, currently, Van Phong Economic Zone is implementing a number of key projects, including the Co Ma High-end Urban Area project.
Regarding progress, Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board has approved the results of investor selection and signed the project contract. According to the bidding documents and project contract: The timeline for completing land procedures including site clearance and land allocation for the entire project is 14 months, maximum 36 months from the effective date of the contract, January 21, 2025. The total progress of implementation and completion of the project is 57 months from the effective date of the contract.
Mr. Le Hong Phuong - Deputy Head of Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board said that it is expected that on July 29, the Co Ma high-end urban area will be started. To start construction, the project must complete site clearance and the locality must confirm this with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, along with the project must be granted a construction permit.
Previously, in December 2024, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee selected Song Han Sun Company Limited (under Sun Group Corporation) as the investor for the project. In February 2025, Van Ninh District People's Committee announced the reclamation of 235 hectares of land to build Co Ma Urban Area, of which 2,615 plots of land are expected to be recovered.

The Co Ma high-end new urban area is located in Van Phuoc commune, Van Ninh district, in the north of Van Phong Economic Zone. The project has a total investment of about 5,970 billion VND, of which the project implementation cost is more than 5,314 billion VND; the cost for compensation and resettlement support is about 655 billion VND.
The project's goal is to invest in building a complete and synchronous new urban area including technical infrastructure system; commercial housing, residential land; service works, resort tourism, tourist accommodation facilities, etc.
The project includes 171 low-rise houses (townhouses); about 150 villas; social housing development land fund of about 0.88 ha, meeting 158 apartment units. As for subdivided land, the number of lots will be specifically determined in the detailed construction plan (scale 1/500) of the project. The population size is about 9,700 people.
