According to the announcement of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Office on August 20 and 22, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee basically agreed with the assessment and development orientation of Khanh Hoa University according to the report, asking for opinions from the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee.
Continuing to develop Khanh Hoa University under the province
Currently, Khanh Hoa University has a training scale of over 3,500 students, with 15 regular university majors with 25 majors and 6 college majors of art. The school has completed the quality assessment of educational institutions and 2 university training programs.
According to the provincial report, it is expected that by 2025, the school will open 5 more university training majors. Thus, at that time, the school will have 20 undergraduate training majors and 6 art college training majors, with a training scale of nearly 5,000 students.
According to the province, with the training results and conditions of "sufficient capacity for independent development, meeting the requirements of socio-economic development of Khanh Hoa province and the region", the province has oriented "continuing to develop Khanh Hoa University as an independent educational institution, directly under the Provincial People's Committee".
That orientation has been unanimously concluded by the Standing Committee of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee as stated above.
The school currently has 2 training facilities in Nha Trang City, which belong to 2 colleges merged into this university.
The biggest difficulty of the school at present is the degraded facilities and infrastructure, due to being built more than 50 years ago. Therefore, according to the Provincial People's Committee, "it is necessary to renovate and repair to ensure safety for students and lecturers, and at the same time create an environmental landscape suitable for modern education".
Therefore, Khanh Hoa University is currently implementing a project to repair the second campus on Pham Van Dong Street (former Nha Trang College of Culture - Arts and Tourism, with an investment capital of 2.17 billion VND).

The province has also decided to invest in a project to renovate and repair Khanh Hoa University at its main campus (at No. 1 Nguyen Chanh and Tran Phu Street; the old Nha Trang Pedagogical College), with a total capital of nearly 31 billion VND.
On the afternoon of August 24, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien - Director of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Development Project Management Board, the investor of the above project - said that the consulting unit is currently designing the construction drawings for the project to renovate and repair Khanh Hoa University. After submitting and being approved, a bidding will be organized for construction and the project is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025.
Reviewing the reserve land fund in Dien An, arranging additional land for Khanh Hoa University
According to the province's orientation for Khanh Hoa University, after 2030, investment will be made to build a new school that meets the standards of facilities, creating conditions for the school to develop to meet the goal of Khanh Hoa province becoming a centrally-run city.
The province directs the Department of Construction to review the current status and determine the reserve land fund for research and training centers in Dien An commune, Dien Khanh district. Including the planned additional arrangement for the school in accordance with the school's development orientation as stated.
The Standing Committee of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee concluded: in the long term, after the new facility of Khanh Hoa University is approved for investment and construction is completed at the new location, it is recommended that the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee direct the review and study of the location of the two land plots belonging to the two current training facilities of the school to consider and decide to hand over one of the two training facilities to the province for land auction to supplement investment resources for key projects of the province.
