Many people who come to the house of a 9X female homeowner in Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi are impressed by the glass cabinet displaying more than 30 Kaws & Bearbrick toy models in the living room. This type of toy is valuable for collection because of its rarity and unique shape, a way to show the class of the "Hypebeast world" (people who follow trends). The 30-35 mm version costs from 10-20 million VND, the price increases gradually for larger sizes. With versions combined with famous brands, the price of the model is up to hundreds of millions. The model is arranged in a ceiling-high glass cabinet system, 5 m long, made of wood with effect grain, the door is designed to be closed, combined with LED lights inside to brighten and highlight the displayed items.

In addition to preserving and neatly arranging the model, the display cabinet also becomes an interior highlight for the 50 m2 living room, which has the main color of black - gray, helping the space balance between the material elements: wood, stone and glass.

In one month of joining the "race" of hunting for art toys, Thanh Thuy (HCMC) has had in her hands more than 70 Labubu, Crybaby, Bao-ao Cuddle models... The largest number is Labubu, a character in the "The Monsters" collection created by artist Kasing Lung for PopMart Company. On average, a small Labubu model costs from 1-1.5 million VND, with a box identified as "secret" (rare) priced from 4.5-5 million VND, and a limited edition costs from 20 million VND or more.

Thuy's collection includes the currently "hot" Labubu lines such as Macaron V1, Have a Seat V2... to limited lines such as Catch me "if you like me", Vans, Zimomo... The total value is about more than 200 million VND.

Because Labubu is made of vinyl (face) and soft cotton (body) which is easily soiled and scratched, Thuy rarely uses it to decorate handbags and clothes, but displays it in her own room. She uses a 5-tier glass cabinet system with LED lights to display small models, classified by release version.

In particular, large-sized Labubu will be stored in specially designed glass boxes with backgrounds illustrating the context and story of each character. For example, Labubu Vans Off The Wall is a skateboarding monster placed in a glass box with a street-style graffiti background, Labubu Zimomo is like a furry bear that will match the natural jungle background.

Loving Japanese culture, Nguyen Duc Giang (Hanoi) started collecting comics and anime character models since he was a student. However, because his old house was small and had no separate display space, he scattered his collections all over the house or stuffed them in boxes.

When building a new house, Giang decided to renovate the 40 m2 attic to have a private gallery with more than 100 character models from mini to giant sizes along with books and stories associated with the 8X and 9X generations such as Doraemon, Dragon Ball, Pokemon... The total value of the collected items is up to hundreds of millions.

This "exhibition" room integrates Giang's working corner and a Smarthome system to increase convenience and experience. The room becomes a private corner for relaxation, without overlapping in living functions and is a place he proudly introduces every time guests come to visit.

Highlights in the corner of the house

More than 200 large and small animal bone specimens are displayed by Nguyen Nghia (HCMC) in a corner of the 30 m2 living room. This collection includes bone specimens and stuffed specimens of several species such as snakes, fish, bats, horses, owls, crows, hawks... collected domestically, purchased from Thailand or processed and shaped by Nghia himself. Bone specimens are the "new life" of animals that died of disease, used for display, research and science.

Nghia uses vertical cabinets and shelves, with the main tones being black and brown, along with some decorative details that exude a mysterious, European feel. Fish bone specimens are placed in a glass tank, and the skulls and horns of large animals will be hung on the wall. Some rare, giant specimens will be placed in a separate corner. Air purifiers and dehumidifiers are used to better preserve the specimens.

Using collectibles as home decoration

Instead of synthesizing and arranging them in a corner, Vu Huy - an architect in Hanoi turns his collectibles into furniture to add a unique touch to the living space.

Huy has spent many years collecting agricultural tools and typical utensils of ethnic minorities across the country. When renovating the house, he wanted to have a space to heal and display the collection to preserve the regional culture of Vietnam, satisfying his passion for traditional materials.

In the 5-storey townhouse in Hanoi with a 3-layer tiled roof, columns and beams, using natural materials such as bamboo, wood... and the main brown tone, the collected items are used to display everywhere. Colorful Thai chests are used as bedside cabinets, millstones are turned into decorative shelves, wooden trays are used as paintings hanging at the head of the bed... adding to the rustic, simple and "old" quality of the house space.

The owner of the collection works in the financial sector and has a hobby of collecting art paintings and antiques. The collection mainly consists of two lines of paintings: Indochina and Gia Dinh, along with decorative art objects and antiques such as clocks, carpets, etc. originating from many countries, diverse in style, culture and period.

When designing the house, he wanted to create a harmonious space to both display the art collection and ensure comfort and convenience for the family. The space is intentionally designed in a Contemporary and Modern direction, not emphasizing on ornate decorative details but focusing on large, monochrome blocks and blocks. Materials such as warm wood, ceramic tiles, and terrazzo floors are added to keep the space in the Contemporary spirit, but exude warmth, quietness, and rusticity, complementing the collection.
