The planning also orients new investment and continues to complete and improve the quality of key technical infrastructure works (seaports, warehouses, railways, key bus stations, etc.) and key traffic routes; towards enhancing the international brand position of a coastal resort city; initially become a financial and commercial city of national and Southeast Asian stature.

The Project to Adjust the General Planning of Nha Trang City to 2040 also specifies the goals and orientations according to Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo on building and developing Khanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045 and the Planning of Khanh Hoa province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 with the content of building Nha Trang City as a core urban area, an economic, political, cultural, social, scientific, technological, and human resource training center; further effectively promoting the role of an important growth pole and international integration gateway of Khanh Hoa province. The city is also urgently implementing other zoning plans with the goal of covering all zoning plans in the first quarter of 2025, creating a premise for implementing large projects, promoting the socio-economic development of Nha Trang City. Currently, some communes such as Vinh Thai, Phuoc Dong, Vinh Luong all have large projects waiting, and must have plans to be implemented. Therefore, in the coming time, the Urban Management Department needs to continue to make efforts, enhance its role and responsibility, and closely coordinate with departments and branches to speed up the progress of establishing and submitting for approval zoning plans.

It is known that by 2030, the total urban construction land of Nha Trang City will be about 9,981 hectares, of which civil land will be about 5,873 hectares; by 2040, the total urban construction land will be about 11,792 hectares, of which civil land will be about 6,713 hectares. The population size is forecasted to be about 630,000 - 640,000 people by 2030; about 750,000 - 780,000 people by 2040.
