The price of gold rings decreased slightly by 50,000 VND per tael, Saigon Jewelry Company - SJC bought 77.15 million VND, sold 78.55 million VND, Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ) bought 77.2 million VND, sold 78.4 million VND... With the same quality of 4-digit 9 gold, the price of gold rings is 2.1 million VND/tael lower than SJC gold bars.
SJC gold bars remained at 78.5 million VND for buying, 80.5 million VND for selling. The difference between the buying and selling prices of SJC gold bars remained at 2 million VND/tael. The price of SJC gold bars was 6 million VND/tael higher than the world price, while gold rings were 3.9 million VND/tael higher.
The reason why domestic gold prices have increased in price compared to international precious metals is due to the recent sharp decrease in USD prices in banks, leading to a decrease in the conversion price. In addition, the world gold price has decreased but SJC gold bars have remained at a high level.

The precious metal on the international market fell by 1 USD/ounce, down to 2,496 USD/ounce, at one point down to 2,493 USD. Recent US economic data has played an important role in shaping the behavior of the gold market. The latest non-farm payrolls report fell short of expectations. While economists predicted that 160,000 new jobs would be added in August, the actual figure was 142,000. This underperformance has important implications for the US Federal Reserve's monetary policy decisions.
The unemployment rate has fallen slightly from 4.3% to 4.2%. However, this figure is still high compared to the 3.8% rate recorded a year ago. The total number of unemployed has increased from 6.3 million to 7.1 million over the past year, indicating ongoing challenges in the labor market. This, coupled with the recent Consumer Price Index (CPI) report showing inflation at its lowest level in three years, has reinforced expectations that the Fed is about to cut interest rates.
Market sentiment, as reflected in the CME FedWatch tool, now points to a 100% chance of a rate cut in September. The tool shows a 70% chance of a 0.25% cut and a 30% chance of a more substantial 0.5% cut. These probabilities have shifted significantly following the latest economic reports, with the odds of a larger cut rising from 40% to 30%. The anticipation of a rate cut has had an impact on the precious metals market. Gold futures for December delivery settled at $2,526.80, down $20.30, or 0.80%.
