Mui Du - Cam Mountain, Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province is a rare place that still preserves traces of time millions of years ago.

The attraction here is the presence of 3 folds and 3 main lines along with capes, quite large rocky beaches with very strange shapes and structures. The rock layers have different thicknesses, colors, hardness, and structures. There are areas where the rock layers are folded vertically, some areas are arranged in an inclined direction, and some are stacked on top of each other. The constant change in the structure and shape of the rock layers here creates a great attraction for those who visit.

Master Pham Ba Trung (Department of Geology - Marine Geomorphology, Institute of Oceanography) said: "3 concave folds like on the cliff, meaning the entire cliff is bent, showing the geological structure of this area".

In particular, this place also has giant fossilized ancient coral blocks about 5 - 6 thousand years old and many characteristic fossils that help determine the age of sedimentary layers.

Master Pham Ba Trung added: "Here there are Ammonite fossils that are about 180 million years old. It is one of the indicator organisms that can be used to determine the relative age in this area. In addition, fossilized wood can be seen here".

In particular, most of the fossils and folds are below the tide level and close to the shore. Therefore, if you want to observe the folds as well as explore the geology and geomorphology of this area, visitors need to choose the time when the tide is at its lowest.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa - emphasized: "This is a unique living museum of Khanh Hoa province. It is a place that can welcome groups of research students to come here to learn more about the geology, stratigraphy, geomorphology and unique landscape of Mui Du - Nui Cam".

With historical, cultural and geological values of a unique nature, found nowhere else, this area is being proposed to build a provincial-level natural heritage profile to protect and reasonably exploit the value of this area.
